I am very fortunate in that my friend Rachel found me a clean and safe place to stay here that is right next to a park! We are facing east, so I see some cool sunrises on my way to practice.
I completed my 3rd week of practice yesterday and I am feeling pretty good. On Rachel's advice I started keeping a practice journal, which I plan to continue when I return home. Currently I am working on binding in Supta Kurmasana ("sleeping tortoise") and coming up to standing from Urdva Dhanarasana ("backbends"). Sometimes two assistants help me with Supta so I have a bit of a ways to go!
Yesterday I received an ayurvedic massasge from Three Sisters. It was the oddest and coolest massage I have ever had! Harini and her sister hang on ropes while they massage your body with their feet. I definitely felt relaxed afterwards and slept like a baby last night, so I think it did me good. Next time I am going for the castor oil treatment. I will keep you posted on how it goes.
So life is definitely at a slower pace here. I am trying to embrace just "being" and not "doing" all the time.
I've just loved reading your India posts and absorbing the sense of calm that you seem to be conveying. It seems like it's been an incredible trip so far, and I love the pictures you've been sharing!
