One of the first things I noticed about people's houses here were the intricate chalk-like drawings on their driveways.
This traditional folk art is called rangoli.
The women wet the driveway in the morning to clean off yesterday's drawing.
And use a loose flour to create the new one.
They can be quite elaborate and beautiful, especially during a religious holiday, as they are meant as a sacred welcoming area for the deities.
I simply love that I can see new art everyday!
That's beautiful and whimsical - spreading a little art and color every day!
