I am blessed in innumerable ways, but I think I lucked out especially in my genes. My non-chicken legs are from my dad and my love for yoga is from my mom. My parents are healthy, fit 60+ year-olds and I hope to be as fit when I am that age.

They are seriously the cutest parents ever. But I digress.

Going back to the 'rents, I feel like I inherited my proportional frame from them. They are both pretty tall for Chinese peeps and I am glad to be fairly tall as well.

That said, I hate when magazines, etc. label women's body types with edible items. I never know what "classification" I fall under. While I certainly don't have a perfect model thin body, I don't think I am a pear, apple or carrot stick. I don't know anyone I would call an apple or a pear. Not sure what that is all about!

This is the first time I have worn this tank tucked it. It is loose and flowy with a lot of extra fabric, so I wore a big belt to hide any extra bulge. I think I like it!

Happy Saturday to you!

This post really resonated with me and when I found that these girl's were doing another Dress Your Best challenge, I knew I wanted to participate.

I used to be envious of girls with long skinny legs. I am not one of those girls. I have calves that are bigger than most boys (except of course the hubs!) I know. But I have finally embrace my muscular calves. They have helped me finish 3 marathons and countless other races. They are most currently stretching more than they ever have and carrying me through my yoga practices. And for that I am thankful.

Dressing my best: shoulders

I definitely think practicing yoga has given me extremely strong arms and shoulders. I can do push-ups (chaturangas) like nobody's business!my shoulders

I wish Gap made these pants in more colors than black and khaki. I love the fit and would buy all colors of the rainbow!

Dressing my best: skin

My best features were given to me by my parents: lots of dark hair, muscular legs, tallish frame (especially for an Asian!) and especially my skin. I love its tone and softness :)

I love to wear bright colors and love how they look on me!

Dressing my best: my athletic frame

Growing up I always has two left feet and my hand-to-eye coordination was never very accurate. So I never played any team sports. And when running track I was always the one who won awards for best effort, while my baby sister was always VIP. So I have never really thought of myself as an athlete.

Fastforward more years than I can to admit: now the hubs and I are the "athletic couple" of our group of friends. I still have two left feet and my hand-to-eye coordiation is still not very accurate. But I have found something that really suits me: yoga! Ashtanga yoga, to be more specific. I have been practicing for over 5 years from now and can really tell a difference in my flexibility and strength.

05.12.10I feel like I stand taller and clothes even fit better. I don't think of myself as skinny, but I do think of myself as athletic and am proud of the body I have worked so hard at.

Can you believe I have had this dress for over 10 years! I wore it to the first wedding Joe and I attended together, when he asked if he was my boyfriend :). I still adore it and hope to keep it forever!

Dressing my best: my legs and neck

I am a little late on academichic's challenge...still reeling from the weekend and having a hard time getting back into the real world. I will have to say Saturday night has definitely also been a fashion highlight so anything else I wear the rest of the week won't be able to compare ;)

05.09.10dress: Old Navy, remix'd
shoes: Gap, remix'd
scarf: Old Navy, remix'd
earring: birthday gift from my friends!

In keeping with my spring/summer dress code, I wore a simple dress to attend another birthday party on Sunday. I adore these new coral hoop earrings and wanted to show them off! I guess I am also showing off my muscular legs with this minidress!

skirt: Gap, remix'd
sandals: J. Crew
necklace: handmade birthday gift from friend!

On my lazy Monday off, I just wanted to wear something comfy and simple, also to show off my new necklace!

05.11.10top: Uniqlo
pants: Express, remix'd
shoes: Geox, remix'd
earrings: gift'd&remix'd

For work today I thought I would show off my long neck :) I think the neck/clavicle area is a very sexy part of any woman, which is also why I like to wear my hair short!

P.S. Isn't it funny how the color of my house seems to vary with the time of day at which I take my photo?
