newest obsession

A website where you upload your clothes and create outfits with the clothes you already have in your closet. How cool is that! Too bad it would take a million years to take photos of everything...I was thinking about taking pics as I wore the clothes...we'll see how that goes!

Right now I am procrastinating going to work, but I guess it's almost that time...

yoga does a body good

Yesterday was spent working (only for 1 hour luckily!), practicing yoga (added 1 more move to the intermediate series), shopping (didn't buy anything BUT I am a step closer to getting those Gucci platforms at a relative steal - our friend B is the manager at Gucci in the Galleria, the shoes were on more sale there, they may get marked down even more by Tues and he offered me is discount!){here is Marc in a cool Ed Hardy hat (not!) - we went to a sample sale which should have been called a sucky sale because practically all they had was Ed Hardy crap!), eating (dosais at Udipiand spending time at K&M's pool.(Not in photo was my Joe, who was hanging out with his bro)
Pool time was great and even a bit chilly as the weather has been fairly mild for June in H-town. D got off work and bought some filets which the boys grilled and we had filets, potatoes, baked beans and cole slaw for dinner. And red wine.{Marc with the aforementioned wine. We didn't even finish 1 bottle, but as you can see it was a large one!} Lots of red wine. So by midnight I was a sleepy girl.

This morning Joe woke up at the crack to run and I had a hard time falling back asleep. So lack of sleep + too much red wine = mild hangover. We got some coffee and bagels which helped, but what has made me feel 100% better is getting a good sweat and strech at yoga. {my mood after yoga!}

I am looking forward to some more r&r today and some good bbq!

officially old

I remember back in high school loving when Fridays came so I could hang out with my friends at night. And I remember asking why Mom and Dad always stayed at home because they were tired. "How boring! I will never be like that!" I thought to myself. Flash forward 20 years (AACK!), and here it is, Friday night, 9 pm. and this girl is ready for bed! Granted, I did get up at 4:40 to work out, worked for 8 hours and practiced yoga for 1.5 hours so I have had a full day. But these days, I really sometimes would rather sleep than go out!

The boys are going for drinks at Meteor, but I have a feeling we will be asleep before they call...and that's fine by me!

{Unfortunately I am bloggin' from the laptop so have no eye candy to share...next time!} night night!

Another long weekend

Love it! Just one more crazy day of work and 3 days off. I am looking for some relaxation!

Also, happy national doughnut day!

Shoe lust

Joe and I went to the Galleria today...him for a haircut, me for some window shopping. Apparently June is sale month for shoes...both Saks and Neimans had tons on sale. Of course a sale there is still not a bargain...but I did try on the Gucci wedges I love and snapped a photo (to be posted later). Too bad they still cost more than an arm and a leg! {Sorry about the crappyy photos - that's what happens when you try to be secretive and not look like a crazy person taking random photos of shoes!}

House guest

The hubs bro is staying with us temporarily...problems with V which is 99.9% leading up to the big D. I feel really bad for him. She was his first love, his only love, the mother of his child...that's a lot of stuff to deal with and I know he is very stressed out. I am glad we are here so he has a place to get away. I wish he and Joe were better friends, but they are working on it.I hardly have any pictures of the 2 of them together...need to work on that!

Happy birthday Tingaling! {eta photos}

I love you more than you know! (p.s. photos to come...I am on our laptop and not the desktop at this moment).

In other, less celebratory news, today is also National Running Day. M-park was like Grand Central Station! And we were sweating up a storm. (again photos laters)Have a great day!

Family time

Tingaling and I had dinner with our cousin Thom at El Tiempo last night. We had some yummy fish and lumb crab meat tacos for dinner (really, it should be called a burrito!)But really the best was catching up with Thom. He is doing great, although not liking his job too much (too much time away from Suzi and Zoe!). He looks great too! Here we are!

Welcome summer

I think the best way to start a month is on a Monday and, in particular, on a Monday when one doesn't have to work! I am not going back to having every Monday off but probably just 1 Monday a month, until we get busier. And I must say, today has been nice. I haven't done much of anything...we got up and did some cardio at the gym. Then yoga practice. Joe came home for lunch. And I've been scrappin' all day!

Tonight I am going to din with Tingaling and our cousin Thom, who is working in Katy. It's been a long time since I've seen him so I am looking forward to it!This is the last photo I have taken with him (and our cousin Crystal)...need to remedy that tonight!

The last cupcake

...until the next one! Dinner last night was yummy - I really like Indika and wonder why we don't go there more often! My girlies are super sweet and bought me a GC from Kuhl-Lindscomb with which to buy more fab jewelery! In attendance were (from left to right), M, Princess, LT, L and T-bone!

Afterwards we met the boys at a new bar/club called 8 on Washington. It was packed and took forever getting in. Luckily the guys commandeered some random's VIP seat and we had places to sit. We ran into some girls having a bachelorette party who needed someone to give the bride-to-be a lap dance so our friend JB obliged (after a few drinks)Good times!

My life doesn't suck as much as yours

Seinfeld was quite entertaining last night. My favorite joke was probably when he was discussing life and how everyone's generally sucks, even his. But he then qualified it with, "well, my life probably doesn't suck quite as much as yours, but it still sucks!" Yes, I can think of a few million reasons why his life doesn't suck as much as mine! Our seats were not that close so this was the best shot I got.In other random news, our upstairs tenants had some guests over last night and one of them drove the cutest car ever: a pink bug!I had to snap a quick photo on my way out to work this morning.

That's all for now. Some rest and Indian food up next!

Another day like every other

Yes, today is Friday but, alas, I will be working all weekend - boo! Fortunately I have a couple things to look forward to - we are seeing Seinfeld live tonight (I will sneak my camera in for photos but got busted at Joel McHale last time so who knows...)

And tomorrow my girlfriends are taking me to dinner at Indika, for my last bday hurrah! I wish May didn't have to end...

15 minutes

We have a bad habit of letting our clutter take over the house so I have decided to take 15 minutes every day to clean it up! So far I have cleaned up our living room/kitchen and most of my stuff on our work table. Hopefully this will last!

And because I hate posting sans photos, I am so happy this is starting again!

early morning run

Summer is about here. We were hot and humid running at Memorial this morning - and it wasn't even 6 am!! Now I have to get re-aquainted with running in the humidity for the next 5 months...

close up

of my new sandals. I have been really obsessed with shoes this past year. And since September, when I bought my first real designer shoes (Tory Burch booties) I have been trying to limit my shoe purchases to really good quality shoes. So with the exception of the 2 pair of target sandals I bought I have made good on that. I mean 4 pairs of shoes in 9 months is really not a lot, right? I have many more I am obsessing over, but have restrained myself...for now!

more weekend please!

I am a bit sleepy today although I didn't do much of anything. Maybe that's why! This Memorial Day has definitely been the most mellow in a long time, which is fine by me! On Saturday morning I went to the gym for 50 minutes of cardio followed by yoga. We had a sub yoga instructor and while it was definitely not my favorite class and I considered leaving I'm glad I didn't because 1) I felt bad since more than half the class left before it was over and 2) I was still a little sore from missing yoga over 1 week and then going full force in mysore so it helped stretch me out without pushing me too hard.

We met Marc, Greg and Johnny (visiting from Chicago) at Baby Barnaby's for bfast with a dessert pancake before heading downtown to watch Termintor Salvation. While the movie was no where near T2, it was entertaining and introduced me to this hottie:His name is Sam Worthington and he played Marcus. He was the reason the movie was even tolerable for me ;)!

Later Sat night we met for bday drinks and wine at Boheme, a cute little wine bar down the road from us. I got some fabu earrings from the boys and Darah.I also wore my new TB gladiator sandals (bday present for myself!)We ended the night with drinks and photos at Kirt and Mike'sI was a little tired Sunday morning but able to drag into yogi. Still a little sore so my practice was a bit draggin' but, as always, I was glad I went. Went over to Tingaling's where Boom cooked breakfast - eggs and delicious gingerbread pancakes! (photos in other camera...still to come)

Later on Sunday afternoon, we got an invite to K+M's pool so of course we accepted! Pool time wore me out and I was in bed by 10!Today I made it to yoga and had an excellent practice. I actually practiced 4 days in a row (Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon!) and am quite proud of myself. We met Greg, Johnny and Chris at 1308 for lunch (ceviche - yum!). The boys went to another pool party but I stayed home, at a cupcake and caught up on Lost (OMG - next season is going to be amazing!). Our pizza just arrived so I am off for dinner. Back laters!

ahhhh

I am looking forward to this nice long weekend of doing much of nothing. Well, maybe something, but nothing major. Maybe a movie, some wine with friends and lots of relaxation. That's what I talkin' about!

Boo!

So my favorite didn't win AI, but my consolation is that he can put out a rockin' album and not have to sing that god-awful contrived winner song!

I have really been bad about posting lately. Just between being busy and uninspired, I guess! One thing to do for my 38th year (AACCK!) is to post at least 4x/week. (I really would like to everyday, I just don't think it's possible for me right now!). We'll see how it goes!

Now I am off to edit and post some Milan photos!

We're back!

...after a nightmarish flight home. Milan to Newark went off without a hitch. But our plane, which was supposed to leave Newark around 4:30 pm didn't end up leaving until 7 or 7:30 so we didn't land until 10:30 and home after 11. Ugh! Now it's time to get back into the swing of things...boo!
