*Yesterday was one of those days where I felt like a truck ran over me by the end of the day. Yoga helped a bit, a couple glasses of wine at dinner helped a bit and going to bed before 9 PM helped A LOT.
*My friends used to comment on how lucky I was to wear scrubs to work. I thought it was only ok. I am SO much happier now that I can dress up for work. I guess getting dressed is one of the joys in my life.
*Working on the weekends stinks. But I have accepted it as part of my job. Luckily looking pretty helps (see above comment).
*I love having short hair, especially in the summer.
*I really need some basic pumps for work, but they are just so boring to buy!
*I love wearing skirts and dresses in the summer - for work and play.
*I received about 5 mosquito bites while taking my remix photos this morning.
*I did a little shopping over the last few weeks. I returned the cutest blazer from Anthro because, as much as I loved it, I live in Houston, Texas and rarely wear jackets, even in the dead of winter. So I bought a dress instead :)dress: Loft
shoes: Talbot's, remix'd
earrings: James Avery, gift'd&remix'd
necklace: Tiffany's, gift'd&remix'd
belt: Banana, remix'd

Adorable dress! Seems like you'd get more wear out of it than a blazer.
I love your dress, and I too love wearing them - I would hate having a job with a uniform.
I also hate buying basics! I'm always kicking myself when I actually need them, but they just aren't fun. haha.
Chic on the Cheap
love this look and your blog!

I was in nursing for acouple of years so I know what you mean about the scrubs! I love dressing up for work too! Freedom of expression through clothing! Beautiful dress! I love the color against your skin tone!

Basics are exactly what I am missing in my wardrobe, but who want to buy a white tee or navy top? I'd much rather buy a frilly skirt and then stare into my closet wondering what the heck will go with it ...
If you're on the search for cute comfy shoes, I recommend you look at Sofft - they make really nice pumps but all have extra padding in them, and I find the fit TTS. I have several pairs of Sofft and swear by them for work.
