It's hard to believe that August is already half over. I try not to even wish for cooler weather until mid-September. We have not been getting a break from the heat and humidity at all this season. Our poor lawn is so sad and dry. After the movie on Sunday we got a sprinkling of rain, but it was just a tease. I am envious of all the bloggers up north who seem to be experiencing a taste of temperatures to come. At least us girls in the South still have lots of time to wear all the fun sundresses we bought this summer :)!

Yesterday was insanely humid, which means I don't like to get dressed.


However, since running around naked probably isn't the best option, this simple dress I've had forever, will have to do. No accessories please!

I know I wore this dress 2 weeks ago and I know I haven't changed it up all that much, but I was really too hot to do anything about it.

I am halfway through the challenge and getting a bit nervous about making things look new. Fortunately I haven't worn all 30 items yet so that should save me for a couple days!

We met some friends out for afternoon drinks and dinner yesterday. I have worn this dress multiple times but I still love it. The shoes are from the first Pierre Hardy for Gap collection back a few years ago and I am glad I was able to snag a pair.

I am blogging from my sister's house today...she is finally back from her month long vacay on the Cape. My dearest little nephew is finally back too - he has grown leaps and bounds since I last saw him. Photos to come later...

This weekend we celebrated...a friend turning 40 (which, by the way, is the new 20, if you haven't heard!).

Relaxing weekend

With the hubs out of town, I spending a lot of time with them: I wish I knew what he was thinking!

One year ago this date, I posted my first wardrobe remix to Flickr. I didn't start blogging my outfits regularly until this year really and now it's become a mild obsession!

This is what I wore. I wouldn't say that my style has changed all that much over the last year but I am definitely wearing more color as well as less jeans (I don't think I've worn a pair since April!). I am also appreciating a good belt much more as well. And since I have been wearing regular clothes to work as opposed to scrubs I have been definitely taking advantage of the contents of my crowded closet.

My friend's birthday party last night was great. I took over 200 photos in the span of about 5 hours...I hope they like the snaps!

A whole lotta nothing

Joe and I ran a 5K in the Heights on Saturday morning. And while I still don't run very fast I hit a PR (as did Joe - just over 19 minutes!).

Don't know if you can tell, but it's feeling like a sauna outside these days and we are much sweatier in the after shot!

I also had a photoshoot with the most adorable family in the world.

He is just so cute! He really has the sweetest disposition.

And I love his expression in this photo...like, "are we done already?!?"

While shooting this pose, he was propping himself up on his arms and trying his best to move around! Didn't quite succeed, but he is going to be mobile before we know it!

Today walking outside felt even more like a sauna. On days like this getting motivated to dress cutely yet weather appropriate can be difficult. That's why I have declared this to be the summer of the sundress Sunday. What could be easier than throwing on a dress and a pair of sandals? Add some cool shades and I'm all set!dress: Loft, remix'd

In keeping up with my sundress Sunday for the summer, I wore a new-ish dress that I adore. I am trying to find different ways to style it, some any suggestions would be welcome.

I ordered the beef udon, which was delicious! Unfortunately I ate too much, got tired and stopped taking any more photos the rest of the day ;)!

We ended up going to a pool party for a bit, then Joe and I came home. I was still pretty tired from the night before so we called it an early night. But I will admit, for a working weekend the past 2 days weren't so bad!
