Pink and red-ish

For as much pink I have in my wardrobe, I really don't have that much red. So now for the quest for a bright red pencil skirt that won't cost me a fortune begins. I promise the shirt is red; it just photographs really pink.



Happy Valentine's Day! I am a firm believer that you should not need a specific day to express how you feel about someone, so the hubs and I are celebrating low key tonight. When you love someone, shouldn't everyday be love day?

Is it weird that I actually own 3 different types of pink pants? These are the only pair that are really work appropriate but I just realized this fact. I guess if you know me, it's not really that weird.


These pants have been with me for 6+ years. They are still in great condition and, thankfully, still fit well.


I bought them in '05 and wore them to a couple rehearsal dinners that summer, so they have a lot of good memories associated with them. I think I didn't wear them for a few years after but I am so glad I kept them. I guess building a lifelong wardrobe will include different types of staples for different people; mine will always have some pink pants!

For the first time in mixing stripes and florals, I decided to keep it simple and casual. I draw inspiration from my fellow bloggers, especially Lisa of respect the shoes. I love her most recent outfit post combining polka dots and stripes - ingenious!


One of my biggest fans is the man behind these photos - the hubs, of course. I'm not sure what is going on with the head tilt here...

It's that time of the month again: EBEW!


My yellow outfit is a bit less than inspired, since I have exactly 2 yellow items in my closet and I wanted to keep within in the confines of the 30-for-30 challenge. I can't wait to see what everyone is wearing :)

I am only 2 outfits into the challenge and am already repeating clothes! For some reason I thought the EBEW lace challenge was tomorrow, which is why I wore the tee and shoes yesterday. Good thing no one here knows (or cares) they are a repeat! I kind of like being able to combine challenges.

I am not much of a lace person, but this cardi at Target was too good a deal to pass up. It's a perfect layer for sweltering three-digit temperatures outside and freezing a/c inside.

So I am cheating a bit in the Everybody, Everywhere floral day because techincally I am not wearing this today (I wore this on Saturday). But I have been up since 3:30 AM traveling from San Francisco to Houston, so I feel like I deserve a little bit of props for even blogging today! I wear florals 4-5 days/week, so it's not much of a strech for me anyway ;)

I saw this Tucker dress on sale at Target and decided to give it a go. It's super comfortable, flattering and versatile, which is why I can see it's been so popular in the fashion/style bloggy world.

I wore this to the surprise baby shower my sister's friends threw for her. Although Brady Gaga is her 2nd babe, all of these mommy friends didn't get to know her until after the 1st one was born so they wanted to do something special for her.

I didn't think to add to jacket until looking being inspired by Lucky magazine (and probably countless bloggers who wear jackets all the time). I'm not sure why I don't wear jackets more often...probably because it's either blazing hot here or cold enough for heavy coats. At any rate, I definitely like the polish the jacket brings to the look.
