My parents come from very large Chinese families. My mom has 4 sisters and 1 brother, my dad has 5 sisters. We have family in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Texas, california, Japan and Taiwan. Needless to say, I have many cousins, whom I just adore, but do not see very often. One of my favorite cousins on my mom's side, Gumby (his nickname not real one!), married his longtime girlfriend A here in H-town over the holiday weekend.
The rehearsal dinner was held at at Chinese Seafood restaurant in Bellaire. The rain was pouring down but we managed to drive all of our out of town relatives to our destination safely.
Here are my parents with Mom's sisters, brothers and respective significant others.
My sis with my gorgeous cousin Y, who is aspiring fashion designer living in NYC. She was wearing the most amazing shoes this weekend...I should have taken some outfit photos!
My cousin Mei Mei with 2 of her 3 kids. They live in Japan and the kiddos don't speak a lick of English or Mandarin. We somehow managed to communicate with them by the end of the weekend.
More cute cousins.
Food highlights included shark fin soup (not politically correct, I know)
and duck!
Dinner was served a bit late and we were starving so I forgot to take a photo of the guests of honor!
The next day they got married.
He looked so handsome, happy and grown up! Mind you, I remember when he was born and wanting kisses from my baby cousin.
Crazy Asian family!

The reception was held at a hotel nearby.
Our token white boys :)
The happy couple
kisses!
Some highlights. I really love my family!
This photo sums up the weekend: a bit chaotic, a bit disorganized, a bit crowded, but well-worn and loved!

What a beautiful, large, family! It is so nice that you know so many of your extended relatives.
My youngest daughter, Ji-Li Hui is Chinese, she is from central China. Our family traveled to China in 2006. We fell in love with the country!
Everyone looks beautiful and happy! It's wonderful for family to be able to get together like this - and as a side note, that duck looks yum!
And you look great in that dress!
