30 for 30 a.k.a. Back to Basics
I am a little late starting this challenge, but I figure better late than never! My motivation for doing this is to show myself that I don't need a million things in my wardrobe to survive. I don't NEED "those sandals" or "that dress" to be happy. I should be able to make do with what I have. I think by limiting my wardrobe choices over the next month I will actually be wanting to wear other things in my closet and not just coveting the next new thing.
My rules:
1) 30 pieces of clothing for the next 30 days.
2) No shopping except when we go to Freeport, ME next week (or if the sandals I have been eyeing at Anthro happen to go on sale!)
3) Because we are traveling to a different climate, I will make an exception in my 30items for a couple of cooler weather clothes (i.e. jackets/sweaters) that I won't be wearing anytime in the August humidity of Houston!
4) Obviously work out clothes are excluded.
5) Pool clothes are excluded as well (got a couple pool parties coming up!)
6) I have unlimited access to the eek! accessories wall :)
Without further ado, my 30 items:
10 tops:
1) blue NY+Co ss shirt
2) berry J. Crew Evie tank
3) gray Ann Taylor petal tank
4) white M+O sleeveless shirt
5) pink Anthro Ring of Roses tank
6) white Loft ruffle tee
7) black J. Crew ruffle tank
8) pink Old Navy ribbed tank
9) gray Gap ribbed tank
10) gray Loft ss cardi
5 skirts:
11) Old Navy denim skirt
12) J. Crew lilac floral skirt
13) black Gap jersey skirt
14) brown Old Navy pencil skirt
15) brown Gap mini
3 pants:
16) brown J. Crew cafe capris
17) white Gap chinos
18) black Gap cropped pants
2 shorts:
19) pink Gap bermudas
20) khaki Loft bermudas
3 dresses:
21) pink Gap tank dress
22) InkDot Loft sheath dress
23) giraffe print Loft dress
7 shoes
24) black Dolce Vita wedges
25) brown Gap wedges
26) brown Aldo booties
27) gray Ann Klein wedges
28) bronze Life Stride sandals
29) silver J. Crew sandals
30) black Geox flats
whew! I didn't include any new purchases from NY because I wanted to stick with basics to see how I could vary them up with accessories. I have also worn everything in the mix at least once, except the khaki bermudas, which I bought at the end of last summer. I wanted to be able to use all these clothes interchangably between work and play, so we'll see how it goes! Outfit posts to come later!

You can totally do this! I like your reason behind taking this challenge; I agree that having to wear what we already have makes us appreciate it more and not focus on what we don't have. No jeans in the mix?
Good luck on the style challenge!
Goodluck!! I think you've picked a great set for remixing.
