This is my view from my laptop today. I love coming to Maine and visiting the hubs' family...it's so peaceful and quiet here and just a great way to recharge and refresh.
Our main reason for visiting this time was Grampa's Memorial Service, although we usually come up to visit once in the summer every year. The service was actually quite nice. Since he served in WWII he wanted to be buried in the Veteran's Cemetary in Augusta. At the end of the eulogy, a soldier played Taps on the trumpet, which gave me chills, and the soldiers also did the folding and unfolding of the flag (I'm sure there is a name for it, but I don't feel like looking it up right now). They then presented the flag to Gram which brought tears to my eyes.
Gram was in good spirits, all things considered. Many old friends and family came by to pay their respects and I really loved seeing Gram with her old friends. She was like a queen holding court!
What other things have we been doing? Eating, cycling, talking, blogging :) and shopping. Later I will let you know how I purchased a top, skirt, dress and tee for 36 cents!

Did you go to Mardens for that deal?
It's my favorite junk store in Maine.
I'm glad you had a good time!
36 cents?! Did you drop the change as a diversion, then strip a fashionable gal down when she was distracted by the money?! :o)
Sounds like a pretty good day, considering.
and wow, what a steal -- and now you have how many more days until you can wear them?
Chic on the Cheap
My condolences on the loss of your grandfather.
