In favor of the pencil skirt

My favorite go-to outfits for work lately have been pencil skirts and tops with and without cardis, depending on the weather.

This particular outfit worked better in my mind, however, than in real life. The blouse is 3/4 sleeved and a little poufy and the cardi sleeves are tight so I felt a little rumpled here. And by the way, you will probably be seeing A LOT of my boots coming up, as I am going to take advantage of the cooler weather while I can and wear them as much as possible.

This $15 skirt has been serving me well over the past couple years. When it gets too old I will probably invest in a better quality one that is a bit longer without the slit in the front, but I can live with it for now.

December daily update:
We went to our local tree lot with our friends Marc and Roger last night and bought our tree! I love the smell of fresh pine. Tonight we will be busting out the lights and ornaments and decorating! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

You can never go wrong with a pencil skirt. They are so classy and flattering. Have fun decorating your tree!

there's so many good things in this post! christmas trees and pencil skirts and boots and the green/pink combination!

p.s. i hate the scrunched-sleeves-under-sweaters-that-you-can't-fix phenomenon....drives me nuts!

That tree looks lovely. I think the pencil skirt may be your signature style. Perfect.

Ooh, it is Christmas tree time, isn't it? We're debating whether or not we'll be getting a tree this year since we won't be home for Christmas - but it doesn't seem right without it!

I love that lime cardi with the printed top! Great color combo. I also love how the second outfit is almost a reverse of the shades.

Pencil skirts are visually my favorite type of skirts. However, circle skirts are my all time fav to wear.
