29...again

Untitled
Yesterday we celebrated the anniversary of my 29th birthday with brunch and drinks for a fabulous Funday Sunday. I am happy to report most photos were actually taken with the big camera (although I didn't adjust the settings properly so the pics didn't turn out exactly as I wanted, but sometimes living in the moment is more important than documenting it.).

Thanks to all my dear family and friends who helped me celebrate the anniversary of my 29th birthday!
Although Joe specifically requested no gifts, my dear family and friends are more than generous in showing their affection. I couldn't be more blessed.

Off to enjoy the rest of my day with my favorite man. Happy Monday!

Week in photos

I still have vacation brain so posts may be a little scattered this week.

My sis certainly has her hands full. I am bit sad because JJ is now very aware of who is Mama and who is Auntie. Auntie is definitely not Mama. Luckily little Buddha makes no such distinction! They are away at her in-laws for a couple weeks so I am missing my baby fix.

Whirlwind weekend

Our good friend AP was in town from London this weekend so we spent most of our free time with him and our friends. Friday night after yoga we met him, his parents and sister/bil at Segaris, a small seafood restaurant that A loves. Afterwards we met the boys at Meteor for a few drinks.
Last night A had a party at his sister's house for everyone to get together. It was great seeing all our friends in one place! We went to Etro for some 80's music and then habitat for some house music. The party ended, like many do, at Club Rue until the wee hours of the morning!
Today Kirt and Mike (the new/replacement gays) had us over for a yummy brunch and we met everyone at Berry Hill. I just got home because I needed a little break and rest from it all...Meteor is hosting an all Madonna party tonight that I thought I wanted to go to, but I may stay at home and catch up on DDR shows instead...

Berry Hill

We spent another afternoon doing nothing but hanging out at Berry Hill. When are we going to grow up?

Back again

When I get out of the habit of doing something, I feel guilty for not doing it and procrastinate it even more. This applies to my life as well as my blogging. I am the world's worst procrastinator.
So last Sunday we had a La Strada/Berry Hill revivial. The weather was amazing and everyone was in such a good mood Joe and I couldn't resist partaking in the fun. So of course we had a hard time getting back onto a good workout schedule last week.
But at least we had a good time. And we're back on track (for today. It is yet another Sunday so who knows what the afternoon will bring?)

Monday already?

Sundays are great days because we work out in the morning and have the rest of the day to do whatever we want. Many times the doing nothing involves our friends and hanging out. Yesterday was no exception. We spent the afternoon in Kirt and Mike's pool. They have been working in KC all summer so we really enjoyed spending time with them as well as everyone else (Ken, Peg, Johnny, Matt, Rob, Marc, Joe, Richie, Marc and Darryl). Yesterday was scorching hot as well so being in the water helped cool us down.
But now the weekend is over and it's back to the grind. The OD in Dallas quit, yet again, so Dr. Do is having to travel up there tomorrow and I will be by myself for Tues, Wed, and Thurs. I don't know why the Dallas office has so much drama!
So I am trying to gear myself up. It's very very difficult!

bad blogger!

The weather has been damp, cold, and dreary. My mood has not, but I have definitely been in chill out mode, especially after this past Sunday. We were ridiculous and spent it out at Berry Hill, JR's, The Mine and Kirt and Mike's. Any of our usual Sunday spots. We had much fun, though!

I have been inspired to scrap lately. I am just eagerly stalking Fed Ex for my Heidi Swapp kit!!

Nothing exciting to report. Over and out.

Working and playing hard

Tomorrow is the last day of the month. We will be swamped, but hopefully everything will work out and bonus will be good - woo hoo! Then another 4 days until a 3 day weekend. I am really looking forward to that (Marc's bday weekend - uh oh!).

After work Joe and I met up with Marc, D, Matt, Rob, Richard, Darah and Danny. Everyone except Joe and Danny piled into a limo that took us to see Kelly Clarkson! Fun show. She has an amazing voice and I really enjoyed the songs I knew. Unfortunately being at the Woodlands Pavilion was really HOT and HUMID. Rob is a huge KC fan and he had the best time of all of us! And the limo is definitely the way to go - no traffic worries.

Needless to say, leaving Joe and Danny together for 5 hours in Montrose had us back to 2 drunk boys. I didn't stay out much longer after we got back and Joe came home about an hour later.

This morning I had to see patients for about 1 hour. Yoga was out of the question. I don't sleep very well after drinking any amount of alcohol. We met up for our usual brunch at little Berry Hill. This afternoon was spent in front of the TV - Madonna's I'm going to tell you a secret and Garden State. Both very entertaining.

I've been trying to motivate myself to scrap - I just don't know what yet.

Ting finished her race and seemed to be in good spirits. I am so proud of her!

The weekend (what little I had) is almost over - ugh. Just 5 more days to go...

Time flies when you're at Berry Hill

So yesterday, after another hellish day at work, we went to dinner with the boys (well, Marc, Darryl, Matt, Daniel, John and Darah, so not all boys) at Collina's, our favorite restaurant to eat/socialize/hang out, etc. Of course after eating lots of bread and pizza and drinking lots of wine, I am done for the night. Everyone else (Joe included) goes to Meteor and South Beach for all sorts of debauchery. I was not a happy camper and awoke too early for the amount of sleep I had.

I saw patients this morning - they all did very well. I like doing the one-days; they are always so happy. Afterwards, I made a quick run to Target and went to yoga. After yoga we did our usual breakfast at little BerryHill on Revere. I like hanging out there with everyone cause we are just talking and laughing and telling stories - just good times. We were there for over 3 hours! But little BH always leads to BH on Montrose. Apparently today was their 3 year anniversary.

The only problem is that after 4:30-5, BH just gets too crowded and annoying. I usually reach my fill at this point. We went to The Mining Company for a bit but left soon after. I am now eating some Niko Niko's while Joe has already passed out.

This can be a typical Sunday. Just out of control. I think I'm over it. But Joe is not yet, and therein lies the problem. Sigh. Getting old is such a bitch.
