speechless

amazed. blessed. unbelievely lucky. so so so happy. and even a bit exhausted.

I cannot express how I am feeling today. Last night my friend M was taking me to a party at Lynn Wyatt's house. To make a long story short, he told me a friend of his got invited and that friend wanted us to come as well. Being a trusting friend and never one to turn down the possibility of meeting Bon Jovi (who he said was rumored to be there), I accepted with great pleasure. We were planning on meeting at my sister's for drinks prior to the party.

Imagine my surprise when we showed up at my sister's house and 90% of the people that I adore in my life being there, including BK, one of my besties from high school! It took a few minutes to register than 1) everyone was here for me! 2)no we weren't meeting Bon Jovi and 3) there was no other party! I don't think I stopped smiling for at least an hour after the surprise. And I know I have never felt more loved :)

I don't think I snapped a single photo last night - my dear hubs and friends took over that job. Everyone was dressed in pink! We had tons of food and even a photo booth!
05.08.10dress: Banana Repulic outlet
shoes: Gucci, remix'd
necklace: Anthropologie

Of course I snapped a remix photo prior to leaving for the party. I bought this dress at the outlet mall last month and love it! The shoes were from last year, my absolute favorite pair ever! And the Stormy Seas necklace from Anthro was the huge hit of the night.

And as much as I love looking fabulous and having new clothes, nothing, nothing can replace the wonderful people I call my family and friends. And that's all I ever want for my birthday.

Happy birthday Tingaling! {eta photos}

I love you more than you know! (p.s. photos to come...I am on our laptop and not the desktop at this moment).

In other, less celebratory news, today is also National Running Day. M-park was like Grand Central Station! And we were sweating up a storm. (again photos laters)Have a great day!

Our creations

For part of our craft Monday Miss Tingaling helped me alter some tees to make them more fun and wearable and wearable. We actually "made" 4 new tank tops for me to enjoy for the summer! My faves are the first (Madonna cinched up the side) and last (Beijing 2008 halter, which is very timely indeed!).We also spent some time shopping and getting my poor IPod looked at. He worked this morning, but the prognosis is not good. He just keeps getting too wet after I run.
I've got him soaking in some rice to absorb some of the water, a little bit of advice from Nathan, the Apple genius who helped us yesterday. We'll see if it works!

I should be packing

...but instead I am blogging. Luckily I have most of the stuff I need all ready, I just need to make sure I am not forgetting anything.
I had dinner with Tinger and Boom last night. I still can't believe they are moving to H-town!
They are in the process of looking for and buying a house here and putting their house on sale in Richmond, all of which, I am sure is a big pain in the a$$. I am just encouraging them to buy a house with a pool! After work this afternoon I am off to the airport and Phoenix. Joe's big race is tomorrow. And after that, no more Ironmans for a long time (I hope!).

Lovely weekend

I love the weekends! We haven't done anything very exciting, but I just enjoy being at home and doing much of nothing.

Some photos of my sweet hubby for the last couple days. I have a feeling that most of the Joe-oriented photos this month are going to be related to swimming, cycling or running. The IMAZ (Ironman Arizona) is about 6 weeks away and he is very focused, especially since he found out his online coach, who has 4 students at that race, will be there!

I saw The Other Boleyn Girl with Marc and Peggy yesteray. I would give the movie 2 out of 4 stars. It wasn't terrible but the book was much better. I did love one line from the end of the movie when King Henry is asking why Mary is defending her sister Anne when she really betrayed her. Mary's response was, "She is my sister and therefore a half of me." I hear you girl - life is not complete without my baby sister!

Fantastic weekend

Joe and I drove to Austin yesterday to visit with Tinger and BoomBoom. The boys were running the marathon (Boom) and half-marathon (Joe) while Tinger and I were their cheerleaders.
Tinger and I did a little window shopping while the boys picked up their packets. The four of us then drove the race course (Joe's suggestion, of course) before having an early dinner and calling it a night.

This morning started bright and early. We picked T+B up at their hotel around 5:30 am. After a light breatkfast we saw our runners off at the finish line. We were able to see them both at mile 6.

We also saw Boom at mile 21. Poor thing, he looked very tired.

Tinger and I were able to see both our boys finish their races. The best part of being a spectator is not having to run!Tinger made the cutest tees for us to wear during the race. Unfortunately we weren't able to reveal them until the end as the temperature was quite chilly!

The 4 of us had a yummy brunch at Kerby Lane before Joe and I had to leave. We made it back to h-town in less, than 3 hours, and now Joe is riding his bike for 2 hours! {Yes, I know, he is craz-ee!}
I love spending time with my baby sister and her hubby. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will eventually find a job somewhere in TX!

Ever have a day

...that just made you feel like you were run over by a train? That was me today after work. We were just busy busy busy. But it is over now, yoga helped me find my inner peace. And tomorrow I get to see 2 of my favorite peeps on the planet.
We are meeting them in Austin, where Joe is running the half marathon and Boom the full on Sunday. I'll be taking lots of pics!

Fashion Week

I wish we could have gone again! Tinger and I had such a fabulous time last year. And since I didn't post any photos this time last year, I thought I would revisit them tonight.

Sad day

John called me this afternoon at lunch...Clementine is sick and won't survive. Ting is very distraught and I am upset as well. I've never heard John cry so naturally I started crying when he did. I am still not exactly sure what is wrong - just a test came back that she has some kind of rare disorder or that she is not developing normally. I was so looking forward to becoming an auntie. I guess we just won't have a golden piglet this year :(

In other, more-random-and-not-as-life-affecting news, I am experiencing allergies like never before tonight. Itchy eyes, nose and throat, congested nose and sneezing. Ugh - it sucks! Hopefully things will be drier in Lubbock tomorrow. Otherwise I really need to get some allergy medication.

Off to Lubbock in the AM. Yee haw.

Post 151

Ting was asked to be a blogger for her race across the Atacama desert this week. I'm so glad because her posts have made me feel more connected to her and kept me updated on her progress. Poor thing, this race is really testing her limits but I know she can do it! Luckily the athletes can receive emails so I have been trying to mail her 2x per day. Hopefully the mail brings some smiles to her face!

I got some fun scrapbooking books yesterday! Ali, Elsie and the Me book. Yummy! I am very inspired to scrap, just have to find the time! Work, as predicted, has been fairly busy. It's a good thing, as the day goes by very quickly.

Joe cooked a yummy Rachael Ray meal last night. Hmmm, an Ironman and he cooks?? I think he's a keeper!

Inspiration

Here is photos of my studly husband and sister. Joe running the last leg of his ironman.

Ting is doing a 150 mile 7 day race across the Atacama desert, in Chili. She just completed the 3rd leg. I've seen some beautiful pictures of the desert, but it looks like a tough race. She is one of the competitors who have a blog (!!) so I've been keeping up with her that way. She is awesome!
