Week in photos (+ an extra outfit)

Summer is not officially here yet, but you would never know from the temperatures here in Texas! It is hot hot hot! This was a week of just normal, everyday life.

JJ was having a moment after coming home from camp on Monday. Dog is his favorite stuffed animal.

On Tuesday I walked from my hotel to Whole Foods to pickup dinner and lunch for the next day. The 15 minutes outside each way felt like a sauna!

I made it home in time on Wednesday to watch my favorite summer show. Cat Deeley is my idol and I want to be her when I grow up. Did you see that fabulous pink dress she was wearing?!?

I absolutely adore Buddha's steel blue eyes. I thought all Asian spawn would have brown eyes but apparently I was wrong.

Buddha turned 3 months old on Friday, but he was sleeping by the time I came over. So his 3 month photo will be coming up next week!

Going to a work-wedding on Saturday was made better by an open bar and photo booth. Joe's ex-co-worker, in the middle here, married off his oldest daughter. Smiles were everywhere.

After running errands today we treated ourselves to a summer favorite: TCBY. Nothing tastes better than cold yogurt on a hot day!

What I wore to the wedding (obviously this is an exemption from the 30-for-30 challenge):

Dress: Trina Turk, remix'd
shoes: Tory Burch, remix'd

I love this dress. It always makes me feel like a million bucks when I wear it. What else makes me feel like a million bucks? That handsome man by my side :)

Week in photos and an outfit

I was so glad not to have to travel for work this week! Unfortunately I will be back on the road tomorrow afternoon, but that is future-EE's problem :)

The little peanut is growing into the big peanut. Those big brown eyes kill me every time.

Baby Buddha always furrows his brow. I wonder what he is thinking about!

Any day spent with these little guys is a good one. One when I receive belated birthday gifts is even better!

I got a wild hair up my a$$ during lunch on Friday to walk to Potbelly's from the office for lunch. It took about 15 minutes and was just long enough, especially in the heat, to be annoying. But I think I will probably do it again some time. This is a snap of me looking up at some of the cool buildings around our office.

We had a fun evening at our friends' wedding. C is one of the last remaining bachelors I know, so it's nice to see that he found the one!

We made pizza for an early dinner tonight.

This is the same dress I wore to my surprise birthday party last year. In fact, I think it's the exact same outfit. If it's not broke, why fix it?

Wedding weekend

My parents come from very large Chinese families. My mom has 4 sisters and 1 brother, my dad has 5 sisters. We have family in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Texas, california, Japan and Taiwan. Needless to say, I have many cousins, whom I just adore, but do not see very often. One of my favorite cousins on my mom's side, Gumby (his nickname not real one!), married his longtime girlfriend A here in H-town over the holiday weekend.

The rehearsal dinner was held at at Chinese Seafood restaurant in Bellaire. The rain was pouring down but we managed to drive all of our out of town relatives to our destination safely.

Rehearsal dinnerHere are my parents with Mom's sisters, brothers and respective significant others.

Rehearsal dinnerMy sis with my gorgeous cousin Y, who is aspiring fashion designer living in NYC. She was wearing the most amazing shoes this weekend...I should have taken some outfit photos!

Rehearsal dinnerMy cousin Mei Mei with 2 of her 3 kids. They live in Japan and the kiddos don't speak a lick of English or Mandarin. We somehow managed to communicate with them by the end of the weekend.

Rehearsal dinnerMore cute cousins.

Rehearsal dinnerFood highlights included shark fin soup (not politically correct, I know)

Dinner was served a bit late and we were starving so I forgot to take a photo of the guests of honor!

Color me exhausted...

This weekend one of my cousins got married down here in H-town. Since my sister and I live here, she and her hubs acted as the hotel for our family while Joe and I were the taxi service. Between the rehearsal dinner, 2 breakfasts, the wedding service and the reception we spent A LOT of time with my crazy family. I loved every minute of it, but am so tired that I almost forgot today was the 4th of July. We just woke up from an hour long nap and I have a feeling we will be going to bed early today. So no real outfit photos for the weekend, although I have tons of wedding photos to edit! We'll be back to our regularly scheduled program tomorrow...(or maybe Tuesday).

I *heart* weddings

Our friends J&M finally tied the knot last night! They had been dating for what seems like forever and got engaged last year. We have been looking forward to their wedding for the past 12 months and they did not disappoint.J&M weddingThey held the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception at the Petroleum Club, which is on the 43rd (?) floor of a tall building here in H-town and afforded us an excellent view of the city. They had a harpest, DJ as well as Molly and the Ringwalds as musical entertainment. J&M weddingThey served mojitos (Peach for M whose family lives in Atlanta, Blackberry for J who is apparently always on his, and classic Cuban) in addition to their open bar for our liquid entertainment. J&M weddingThe 4 course sit-down dinner was delicious as were their cakes (the groom's cake was made in the form of a Blackberry! and the bride's cake has the most delicious fondont!). J&M wedding

They even had a candy bar with all sorts of candy in the colors of their wedding (red and purple, apparently). J&M weddingBut my absolute favorite part of the whole affair was the photobooth! We took tons and tons of photos (naturally) and they were so fun! I wish I had taken a photo of all of us in the booth! I did snap tons of us on and off the dance floor!J&M wedding

J&M weddingI wore my favorite pink dress of all time. I have decided that life is too short not to wear my favorite color. Black seems kind of dull to me right now.
J&M wedding(The best part about this dress is that I can eat as much as I want and still look skinny, thanks to my yogi arms!)
We are not especially close to J or M, but they are definitely good peeps.J&M weddingI am especially envious of their honeymoon - 2 weeks to Dubai, Kenya and Seychelles. I would really love to go on another African safari in my life!
