summer break

How much social media is too much? Between Facebook and Instagram and Flickr and Twitter and YouTube and Blogger and Pinterest and even more I'm sure I'm forgetting, it just way too much. At least too much for this girl. And I don't even participate in half of this. So in order to cut myself some slack and live in the 3D world I've decided to take a blogging break. At least for the summer, maybe longer. Who knows, who cares, really.
See you on the flip side!

finally Friday | quiet around here

June has been a low photo month for me. I have been making an effort to live in the moment and not get the phone/camera out for every little thing.

We are looking forward to the weekend, however. Here's to a good one!

finally Friday | almost summer

Temperatures are rising outside and time in the pool is now. I want to take advantage of being poolside as much as possible this summer.

Dad is in China right now but still want to remember him on Dad's day!

I'm a bit "behind"on memory keeping, but figure even though documenting memories is fun, living in the moment is even better.

My favorite photo from the week.

And the moment that made me smile the most this week - Roller disco king!

finally Friday

Happy June! Summer is almost here and I am ready to milk it for all it's worth.

Our first trip this summer involves the wedding of 2 dear friends. Can't wait!

Helped celebrated the birthday of my baby sis.

We are attempting a vegan diet for the month of June. Already had one teeny slip up (a sauce I used to cook with had milk in it) but overall I like having the limitations. We don't eat terribly but are addicted to sweets so no cake or cookies!

Spent some days with little peeps.

It's been a busy week but we try to stop and enjoy the moments.

TGIF!

Happy December!

As the holiday season begins, what I want to remember is to take every day as it comes, let go of unrealistic expectations, enjoy time with friends and family and have some fun!

One of my yoga friends left these darling blocks on my bag after practice. So sweet and they made me smile!

We put up the tree on Thanksgiving (having an artificial, pre-lit one is 100% easier than getting a real one, although I do miss the smell of fresh pine) but I didn't get around to decorating it until yesterday. Now it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

My December daily this year is simply going to be part of our Project Life album. And I also plan on participating in Journal Your Christmas, with more writing than photos, which will be made into a 6x6 mini album. This year I have only bought a holiday roller date stamp; otherwise everything else is coming from my stash. I am doing my best today not to shop on Cyber Monday, but not making any promises!

October has been a fairly ordinary month. Lots of friends, family, food, fun and of course, yoga always! The temperatures have been pleasant, especially this weekend. I'm thinking I may need some more candy corn...

week in the life

I had the best intentions of documenting the little deets of life with my big camera last week. That lasted all of maybe half to one day? Oh well. I decided in the middle of the week (as I was losing steam taking photos in general) that I wasn't going to do a full album (or add to my already existing WITL album, that is) and just continue with Project Life as normal. That said, I did get a few extra pics. Here's a sample

me, myself and i

1/30. Pink+yoga=#abeautifulmess #selfie #latergram #lululemon
The main reason I upgraded to an iPhone 5 was the camera (and its panoramic function, which I don't use nearly enough!). I also wanted more apps without having to worry about the memory getting too full!

2/30. How they see me #ABeautifulMess #selfie
I have been participating in a self-portrait-a-day challenge this month, using the "A Beautiful Mess" app.

3/30. #ABeautifulMess
Although taking a picture of yourself everyday can seem a bit narcissistic, it can also be a way to practice photography without bugging anyone else.

4/30. Early Sunday AM #ABeautifulMess5/30. And i@was not driving when this photo was taken! #ABeautifulMess#selfie
You can experiment with different perspective.

6/30. New earring #jcrew #ABeautifulMess
...and lighting

7/30. Fruit and veggie salad with toasted coconut for dinner #pictapgo_app #abeautifulmess #vegan #selfie
And sometimes you don't even have to hardly be in the photo at all!

I am halfway through the challenge...won't you play along? :)

still here

Good morning sun
It's been one of those weeks where I don't have much to say. May is over and time is simply flying. So ready for a summer break!

29...again

Untitled
Yesterday we celebrated the anniversary of my 29th birthday with brunch and drinks for a fabulous Funday Sunday. I am happy to report most photos were actually taken with the big camera (although I didn't adjust the settings properly so the pics didn't turn out exactly as I wanted, but sometimes living in the moment is more important than documenting it.).

Thanks to all my dear family and friends who helped me celebrate the anniversary of my 29th birthday!
Although Joe specifically requested no gifts, my dear family and friends are more than generous in showing their affection. I couldn't be more blessed.

04.28.13
Off to enjoy the rest of my day with my favorite man. Happy Monday!

weekend lens | art car, baby!

DSC_6939
Houston host an art car parade annually. This is the first year is a long time I have been able to attend (usually am working).

Saturdays are good for glitter boots, no?...and a top hat
This year, in anticipation of our upcoming Burning Man trip at the end of the summer, we also decided to dress up.

Untitled
Seeing all the interesting cars was cool, and fortunately yesterday wasn't as warm as it normally is here.

But to be honest, dressing up was actually the funnest part of the day.

Cuteness at 2+3

May 7: something that begins with F! #fmsphotoaday
DD is talking so much more these days! And he is more amenable to giving his auntie kisses instead of the usual "no!" I would say every other request is met with a cold shoulder but one out of 2 ain't bad!

Auntie's favorite 3 year old
JJ is my sweet albeit a bit naughty boy. He always gives auntie kisses even while pushing the boundaries of what he can and can't do.

Still feeling super blessed that we live so close to these guys so I can watch them grow up (and be close to them as well). I love that they feel super comfortable around me and there's no being shy around auntie. Gotta treasure these little moments!
