weekend lens | Open your heart

Hoping it's really goo! #tgif
The weekend started off with more wine than usual, but we needed it. Too bad the Wine by Joe was only ok.

On Saturday we met S,P&T for dinner at Indika, a nearby Indian fusion restaurant. The food was better than I remember, which is always a good thing.

Glad we didn't stay until 5AM! #latergram
Later that evening we found ourselves at our yearly visit to SoBe, for Madonnarama. All Madonna, all night. Yes, please. And no, we did not stay until 5AM (those days are LONG over!).

I am not sure why S&I haven't been friends from before. I've known who she was for a long time but we have only started hanging out this last year. Besides the fact that she is drop-dead gorgeous, she's smart, funny and loves to dance. What's not to love!

Today I spent some time with some other girlfriends at the Earth Day festival by my place.

I actually danced in these platforms all evening on Saturday night and my feet weren't completely shot afterwards. That's a plus!

weekday casual | MDNA (and a good hair day)

Although we were sad to leave NYC on Tuesday, we have lots going on this week. I actually took Wednesday and today off from work, mainly because we were seeing Madonna last night!

I obsessively bought pre-sale VIP tickets back in February, which were insanely costly, but you only live once, right?

Untitled
The VIP tickets included a pre-party with food, drinks as well as a "swag" bag that had inside a tee, program, as well as sample of her new perfume.

Our seats were unfortunately not in the "golden triangle" but in the 3rd row.

She looked and sounded amazing!

And I have never gotten more compliments on my hair, from friends at the show as well as FB peeps after I posted my pics.

Her new album has been growing on me. We are looking forward to her show in October.

Madonnarama

When the hubs and I first started dating (over 10 years ago - eeps!), our favorite thing to do was to go clubbing. We both enjoy house music (what many peeps think of as "techno") and dancing. This continued on into married life until the past 3-4 years. With work and working out and not wanted to be completely spent (a.k.a. hungover) the next day, we go out but usually with friends for dinner/drinks. My interest in going to clubs has definitely waned (especially since everyone out looks like they are about 12!).

South Beach is one of our friends' favorite haunts, but I haven't been there in over a year. Just not my thing anymore.

I do, however, make one exception. Every year they host an all-Madonna-all-night party called, you guessed it, the Madonnarama. We always have such a great time because the music is so fun! Last night was no exception! And although I am still paying the price today, it was totally worth it.Madonnarama 2010Here we are at our place before heading to SoBe.Madonnarama 2010Inside the club.Madonnarama 2010My favorite boy ever!Madonnarama 2010Some cuties.Madonnarama 2010More cuties.Madonnarama 2010Fabulous costume!

Hump day

I'm glad it's already Wednesday and the weekend is just around the corner. It kind of sucked that I had to work last Sat but on the flip side, I get a 3 day weekend 2 weekends in a row - which I am very excited about.

Some great news - we got our tickets to see Madonna here in H-town come November! They are not front row or anything, but we didn't pay an arm and leg for them either. I will be looking forward to her show!

Madge!

So I have been a little obsessive about all thing Madonna latetly with the release of her new, absolutely fabulous CD. We have actually seen her live 2x over the past 4-5 years (don't EVEN ask how much money was spent on these trips). We saw the Re-Invention tour in Miami and the Confessions tour in LA. I even attended the dress rehearsal of the Confessions tour with my buddy Cindy, who works at LiveNation in LA.Anyhoo, we always complained that she never comes to Texas. Rumor had it that she doesn't like Texas because of Bush, etc, etc. But for her latest tour she is actually coming to Houston! Woo hoo! I am a little bummed because I didn't join the fan club in time to get the presale tickets, which go on sale at the end of May. But at least we can see her in the comfort of our home town! And we will have to find a way to get better seats...

Priorities

I had ambitious plans of doing one hour of cardio this morning. As it is now 6:30 AM and I have to be at work at 8 I don't see this happening. Instead I have been uploading Hard Candy, the new Madge CD, which I am enjoying, and catching up on my blogs. Not a bad way to spend the morning! {I still can't believe she is almost 50. There is hope for me yet...}

Madonnarama

Billy Boo was in town this past weekend! We went to the Madonnarma at South Beach Saturday night.

We danced the night away. I MAY have had a little too much to drink (those redheaded sluts will do it to you every time!).

Here are me and some of my favorite boys. Aren't we cute!

Been gone a long time

We had a fabulous time in LA!! Madonna rocked and I loved seeing Cindy. Miss that girl! However, by the time we got back home on Monday night we were exhausted.

We even had our final American Idol party last night. It was a success. Mr Soul Patrol Taylor won - not that I really care about him all that much. But the show was quite entertaining. And afterwards I went to M&D's to watch Lost. That show pisses me off - every time one question gets resolved, a million more pop into it's place!! I hate cliffhangers. Yet, I will be anxiously awaiting its return in the fall.

That's all for now - not been in the blogging mood lately.

Missed a day!

What a hectic weekend. Yesterday I was at work all day - I guess last night I assumed I had blogged in the morning. Anyways, after work I came home and tried to nap, but that usually doesn't work for me. So I surfed as well as scrapped! I got my 2005 year-in-review layout done as well as started on A&P's album.

Madonnarama was at SoBe last night so I went with Marc, Richard, Michael D., Darryl, Matt, Johnny from Dallas and Joe. The music was so fun, but of course they didn't really play her cool club mixes until I was exhausted and hot and had to go home. Darryl walked me home around 2 AM.

My phone rang this morning at 6AM so needless to say I didn't get very good sleep. After seeing patients from 8-9:30 I debated going to yoga, but my hangover told me I probably shouldn't be upside down. So I came home and worked on their album until noon, when I met Marc and Michael at little Berry Hill. More people joined and I didn't leave until 5! So nothing much got done today, but it was such a beautiful day, I didn't want to waste it inside! Unfortunately I think I got a little burned on my arms.

So I have gotten some more pages as well as planning done with their album. It's coming together pretty nicely. But I wish I had various pictures in different sizes. Oh well, I just don't have that kind of time! I like doing gift albums, though. They are fun and have an ending. I got some mini album kits from Create for less and I think I will make ones for Ann, Annie and Ree when I see them in August!

I am about to fall over from exhaustion. Tomorrow Joe comes home! Yeah! Our couch gets here! Yeah! I plan on running in the morning (too tired for boot or swat) and yoga in the evening. Over and out.

Madge

She's so awesome! What an inspiration!
