For Jill, with love

03.30.11
tank: Old Navy, remix'd
dress as a skirt: India
sandals: Life Stride, remix'd
scarf: India

One of my new yogi friends commented that she wished I had done more outfit posts while I was there. I spent most of the time in baggy tees and pants, so didn't feel especially stylish but I had some nice moments.

I was proud of myself for only buying 2 items of clothing while I was here. Let's hope I can continue this trend of limited consumption now that I am home. It's nice not to have to worry about showing my shoulders anymore!

Just for fun

I caved and bought a pair of silly only-Westerners-visiting-India pants.

They are also known as "Hammer" pants.

They are very comfy and kept me surprisingly cool. And they are pink!

But I realize also that they are completely ridiculous and I will never wear them outside of India. But a girl's gotta have a little fun!

Welcome March!

I can't thing of a better way to spend this month than in Mysore, India. What could be better than...

Feeling better

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I have to remind myself that I am IN INDIA and stuff happens. Unclench and enjoy :)

After the computer stuff yesterday I enjoyed a nice coconut and banana smoothie to calm my nerves. And this morning, hallelujah, the usb stick magically worked. The connection seems a bit slower, but I'll take it!

India chic?

My India outfits will be posted sporadically. My wardrobe is less than inspired here, since I really didn't know what to expect. It's funny. The Westerners here act like they don't care what they wear, and certainly things with labels are of no consequence. But people do pay attention to their clothes. I've seen lots of layers, scarves, and even harem pants! Only yogis can make harem pants look cool.

Here I am in front of the door of my room.

Here I am in front of the driveway. I don't have the nerve yet to take outfit photos in public. Maybe later...

So these looks are variations of a theme...loose top and bottom. The dress is very conservative here, so no exposed shoulders or knees. Maybe I will take a cue from the yogis who have been here for longer and get a bit more interesting, but this will do for now.
