Although we were sad to leave NYC on Tuesday, we have lots going on this week. I actually took Wednesday and today off from work, mainly because we were seeing Madonna last night!


I obsessively bought pre-sale VIP tickets back in February, which were insanely costly, but you only live once, right?


The VIP tickets included a pre-party with food, drinks as well as a "swag" bag that had inside a tee, program, as well as sample of her new perfume.


Our seats were unfortunately not in the "golden triangle" but in the 3rd row.


She looked and sounded amazing!


And I have never gotten more compliments on my hair, from friends at the show as well as FB peeps after I posted my pics.

We spent a couple days in the heat this weekend at Houston's version of Coachella to see a few performances: Snoop and Afrojack on Saturday and Willie Nelson on Sunday. Even though we had the "fancy pants" tickets, this was about as close as we got to the stage. Just being at the concert for part of the day wore me out, but the people watching was worth it.

I am loving that neons are popular this summer. I may have to update all my summer tanks and tees! And for the record, I did NOT wear this to the show - only tanks and tees and the 90+ degree weather makes anything more super uncomfortable.

TGIF, right? We've actually had a much quieter end of the month at work than I anticipated, which has been nice, but I am still ready for the weekend.


I have had this top for 2 years now and am not bored with it yet. I guess that's the beauty in created a working wardrobe of elements that I love.

We are going to the Houston Free Press Summer Fest this weekend. Despite it's name, the show is not free :) Performances will be going on all weekend but our main goal is to see Snoop and Afrojack on Saturday night and Willie Nelson on Sunday afternoon. With such a varied line-up I am sure the people-watching and photo ops will be numerous!

{Last two} Week in photos

September has gone by in a whirlwind! Some observations from the past two weeks:


I am a crazy stalker and wanted to see if Target had products out the day before the big release. Nothing.


By the time I got there on Tuesday it was as if Nothing had been on the racks! Except that lonely lone hanger.


Baby J is super excited about his new Crocs. Although they are not his favorite color (orange), they come pretty close.


My first Third Thursday ladies night out with some yoga peeps and meeting some other nice chicas. Making new real-life friends is always a good thing.


Deadmau5 at Verizon. He is one of the hubs' current favorite DJs. We had to leave the show early because we had an early morning flight out.


Us with our friends at Red Rocks in Colorado. I would love to see a live show here.


We stayed at Chautauqua in the cutest little cottage.


If you look closely you can see the moon! The sky was unbelievably clean and crisp.

DD's half birthday was last week but we didn't have an opportunity to snap a pic until today. He is just such a cutie.

I am always impressed that our Costco runs include more fruits and veggies and less things in a box.

Last night, the hubs and I waited in line to get a good view of...

I shimmied and squeezed my way to the front with some friends; the hubs decided not to piss off the people behind us even more by doing the same.


Being right by the stage really makes a difference in the whole concert experience.


I enjoyed being able to see her facial expressions.


She put on the most amazing show with fabulous costume changes, back up singers and dancers.


And of course she wore the fiercest shoes!


I loved that she really sang everything.


And she really engaged the audience.


She's got a lifelong fan in me!

Her audience is mostly gay; being the gay friendly gal that I am makes me the second target audience.

Week in photos

Some weeks I am less inspired to take arty photos and just want to capture a moment of the day. Last week was one of those weeks.


I love that we have a new peanut in our extended family!

The hubs and I went to see Kei$ha on Friday night. She is definitely a bit quirky and the average age of the crowd was probably about 16 but we enjoyed the show nonetheless.

We went to a new place for lunch on Sunday. It was fun walking around midtown for a while (until the humidity chased us back inside).

Last night we went to see a show...
Unfortunately Billy and the band didn't start until after 10:30, which is way past our bedtime, so we didn't stay for the whole thing. At least I did get to hear 2 of my favorite songs by them: Today and Drown.

I did enjoy a random date night with the hubs though. Apparently, we can't hang anymore. So no more concerts on a school night!
