Here lately getting dressed has felt like a chore. Having the blog helps me be a little accountable (I don't want to post an outfit of me wearing black pants everyday!) but I guess I am just going through a creative fashion lull.

On the bright side, Project Runway (season 11!) has started and so have our weekly viewing parties. These days we don't see our friends nearly enough so I am glad to have an excuse to get together.

Our time at the first night of Houston Fashion Week was fun because of the company, not the clothes.

Observations for the week:

"Po-po" (grandma in Chinese) loves her baby buddha. Can those eyes be any bigger?


Baby J is still the cutest 22 months old around. And why is it easier for babies to say "no" instead of "yes?"


The days are definitely getting shorter which makes for nice sunset bokeh.


We have a fun group of friends.


During our led class on Friday, Yannis played Sharath doing the count. I miss India.


The large tree in our yard thinks fall is coming even though it still feels like summer. (We did get some much needed rain last night and tonight though - woo hoo!)


I still need to perfect action shots of the hubs on his bike.

Quite the spread

Our weekly Project Runway party was at our house last night and the theme was Indian food, of course. I made channa masala (pictured at five o'clock) and our peeps brought lots of other yummy goodness.


We definitely quite enjoy Project Runway more when eating good food and spending time with friends. Our house is cozy enough for everyone to sit together to watch and critique as we go.

I like to put an effort into what I wear for a PR night but keep it simple as well.


This comfy sundress does the trick!


It hasn't gotten as much love this summer. But it will be a keeper for many summers to come.

I wore this to the most recent Project Runway party. It's my first attempt a real color blocking, although the orange top kind of looks pink here. I have been obsessed with Jil Sander's looks since seeing them this spring but have yet to attempt it myself. Baby steps, right?

Speaking of PR, this season looks super drama-filled. I love it. I also love the dress that won this week - I tried to find it on Amazon but they only had the maxi dress.


Every now and then something I buy from H&M is a real winner. This tee falls into that category.


And I am glad I finally paired these pants with something other than a neutral. More color remixing on the way!

I know I should be more creative with my daily photos, but being around babies just makes me want to capture them at that moment because it will be gone before you know it!

Hanging out. The hubs and I did a little shopping over the tax-free weekend, but, surprisingly didn't buy anything.


I resisted the urge to shop yesterday by playing with paper and glue - my other favorite hobby.

It's quiet around here.

The hubs and I are early birds - he likes to run before the humidity gets worse and I like to practice yoga in the morning. We may sleep in until 6:30-7 AM on the weekends, especially if I am not working, but that makes going out with friends and staying up late harder. I am definitely more productive in the mornings but not so much if my head aches from too much wine! Needless to say this sometimes makes us feel like we are old because we are not out partying like we used to, but I, for one, can live with that.

I wore this on Thursday for Project Runway night. I thought it would be fitting to wear something made by a PR winner. Leann was one of my favorites -I loved her final collection.

I am looking forward to another relaxing day. Funny how time goes by so fast when you are doing a whole lotta nothin'!

I notice that I like to take photos of mostly people. I guess life would be most dull without them and I really adore the people in my life.


Baby buddha is 4 months now and just even cuter than ever. This snap is a little blurry but it really captures how happy he makes us.


We had a breakfast date with a buddy who is away earning his PhD in education at Purdue. I have smart friends too.

The return of Project Runway night! We were in Austin last week so missed the premier episode. I think this season is going to be a good one, and not just because we are getting together every week.


I love how fat and chunky baby buddha is. Just makes me want to squeeze and kiss him. (Note: Baby J is still around, but usually asleep or moving too fast for me to take a decent photo!)

Our friend JC is super fit and skinny so we always tell him to go eat a cookie, or, in this case, a french fry!

Weekend casual

This is the first Saturday morning in I-can't-remember-when where we have no obligations for work or travel or anything. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have to travel for work this month; I am so looking forward to an August where I can get in a good yoga groove, spend time with the hubs and nephews and friends, get our house in some kind of order and bake in the Houston heat! To that end, getting motivated to get dressed up is more difficult.

I actually wore this outfit on Thursday night to watch Project Runway with my peeps. I think this is going to be a good season! I am currently wearing practically the same thing, just different colors :)

Last night our PR party had a very special guest: Tracey, the HP sponsor who was on the show, was in attendance. Her hairdresser is one of friends. So the party was bigger than usual and I had to get a little more dolled up. I love this dress and didn't think to belt it until My Edit inspired me. This outfit is fun and makes me happy!

I am doing Mel's pink challenge this month. The goal is to wear pink everyday in October to bring awareness to breast cancer. Pink everyday? Yes please!
