project life 2013 | week 14
{Mar 31 - Apr 6}
title card
My weekly title cards this year feature my Instagram photos-of-the-day. It's an easy way to get lots of photos in a small space (and sometimes the quality of IGs aren't that great anyways so the small size is perfect!).
full spread, no inserts
Can you believe Easter was almost a month ago? Time flies...

Again, having a place to store the cards we receive in the mail (mainly from Joe's parents and aunt) is so great.

I dusted my Instax off and brought it to our friend's Easter brunch. Having the instant photo is always a party hit - note to self: use Instax more!

And some random moments from the week. I really love the painted blue tree art. After all the photos and inserts from our ski trip, simplicity was the theme this week.Sunday, April 21, 2013
movie night | a yes and a no
We watched two movies in the actual theater this week - a record for us. The first was on Thursday night, where we were the only ones in the theater (well, a couple people came in later, but it was essentially empty).
Trance is the new Danny Boyle movie and was pretty entertaining, if only a little farfetched.
The 2nd movie was at our more local theater, which I love, because the main room is huge compared to the 24-movie plexes around.
The Place Beyond the Pines tried but failed. At least Ryan Gosling was in it and I love me some Ryan!
Have a good rest of your weekend!

The weeks continue on, as they do. Still loving this project.
full spread, no inserts
Hard to believe this was one month ago, already.
full spread, inserts right side
Our Breckenridge vacation fell in these two week, so lots and lots of inserts. Oh, and a St. Paddy's Day card from Joe's parents. His mom is so good about sending cards for pretty much every holiday.
insert 1, front and back
This year my plan is to "introduce" our vacation pages with some type of enlarged photo(s).
insert 2, front and back
And I am going to add as many pictures as I want. Since Project Life is becoming my primary form of memory keeping (as well as creative outlet), I want to have at least what I think are the photos that best capture an event/moment/vacation all in one spot.
insert 3, front and back
Some IGs/hipstamatics from the trip, that have already been shared on the old blog.
insert 4, front and back
Since I am keeping the embellishing to a minimum and my pages are pretty flat, I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will only have 2 albums for the year.
left side
The photos from our trip are in rough chronological order. The one in the upper left pocket is actually a postcard one of the couples made and sent after the trip. So cool!
full spread, inserts left side
Bringing journal cards and writing during the trip helped. I put the cards behind some photos so they can be pulled out if desired.{Mar 23-30}
title card
Since my weeks run Sun-Sat, our vacation spilled into the next week as well.
full spread
But no inserts this time around :)
left side
Photos from the last couple days of Breck. And the only time we ate out the entire trip (not including hanging out at the ski lodge, of course). The photo in the upper right pocket is the back of the postcard.
right side, with photo pocket down and up
In order to add more words without giving up pictures, I added some more hidden journaling in a homemade photo pocket. I am addicted to making these! And that's it. Whew! If you made it to the end, thanks for coming by!

weekend lens | Open your heart
The weekend started off with more wine than usual, but we needed it. Too bad the Wine by Joe was only ok.
On Saturday we met S,P&T for dinner at Indika, a nearby Indian fusion restaurant. The food was better than I remember, which is always a good thing.
Later that evening we found ourselves at our yearly visit to SoBe, for Madonnarama. All Madonna, all night. Yes, please. And no, we did not stay until 5AM (those days are LONG over!).
I am not sure why S&I haven't been friends from before. I've known who she was for a long time but we have only started hanging out this last year. Besides the fact that she is drop-dead gorgeous, she's smart, funny and loves to dance. What's not to love!
Today I spent some time with some other girlfriends at the Earth Day festival by my place.
top&pants: Gap / shoes: Urban Outfitters / earrings: Francesca's / bangles: Loft / bag: MarcJacobs
I actually danced in these platforms all evening on Saturday night and my feet weren't completely shot afterwards. That's a plus!

working wardrobe | mix and match
top&skirt: J.Crew / cardi: Target / shoes: Tory Burch / sunnies: Dsquared
I'm happy to report that most days pulling together work outfits comes pretty easy.
top: Ann Taylor / cardi: Target / pants: Express / shoes: Urban Outfitters /sunnies: Dsquared
Went with more separates this week.
top: Ann Taylor / cardi: Target / skirt: Uniqlo / shoes: Cole Haan
Buying mulitples of the same item is a good thing, in my book (or closet, as it may be).Not quite at the point where I can pull anything out of my closet and wear anything else, but the curating is the fun part. Also looks like the hair needs a major trim...
