We had a fabulous time at Madonnarama, but I am still suffering the consequences today. Just not feeling quite myself yet and my tummy kind of hurts. I did take an hour long walk this morning and worked a little on the yard. I would like to do a little scrapping before being more domestic.
Here are a couple photos from the evening

OMG!
Ok, Lost is like officially favorite TV show EVER. (Yes, even more than Friends, as much as it pains me to say that!). I am SO happy the writers strike is over, although now we only have 4 more episodes until the season is over (boo!). Each time I think it can't get any better it does!
So the book club last night was good. It's always a little awkward when you are the new man in town. I barely even now the girl who invited me - she is a fellow yogi who works as a pharmaceutical rep. She and her co-worker took us to dinner one night which is when we started talking about books and when she invited me to the book club. The ladies there were all very nice and I will probably go again, but it was a bit weird for me. Like I was playing grown up or something. Now I realize I am a grown up (much to my chagrin) but since I play with friends who are either gay men or other women with no babies I forget how the other half lives. The book we read was called Lying on the Couch, which I manage to finish today, by skimming the parts I didn't find interesting. The book itself was ok, but not all the girls read it so we ended up just talking about random stuff. So we'll see how it goes - I am trying to branch out and meet new peeps, which is always a good thing.
I do have to work tomorrow - boo - but we are going to Madonnarama at South Beach tomorrow night. All Madonna all night - what more could a girl ask for? (And yes going to Madonnarama is more evidence that no I am not ready to be a grown up.)

I'd rather be scrappin'
It is 8:22 AM and I am sitting in front of the computer with wet hair and flip flops on. I supposed I should tear myself away from the computer and get ready for work. Sigh...

Anatomy of a weekend
Now that Joe is not training for a race we have had more time to spend playing!
We started on Thursday evening when we checked out a new wine bar down the street. I like this motto we saw spray painted on the side of a building along the way. After some wine we ate dessert at Barnaby's, a restaurant also close by.
On Friday night we had dinner at Mo Mong, then went with the boys to Meteor for some drinks. Joe is cashing in is 109-day chip, as in 109 days of not drinking heavily (which of course is cause for celebration!)
Yesterday we spent most of the day either eating (Empire for breakfast, Brown Bag Deli for lunch and La Vista for dinner) and drinking (Taco Milagro for mid afternoon margaritas and La Vista for lots of wine with dinner).
My favorite photo of the night has to be this one D took after I "accidentally" burped into Marc's ear!
Joe is still in bed trying to sleep off his hangover and I have been having fun scrapping this morning and skipping yoga. I am sure we will be getting into more trouble later this afternoon!

Back to the grind
We arrived back from Phoenix last night around 9 pm. And we were spent! I can't believe how exhausting travelling can be - my least favorite part is the getting home because I am always worn out between the returning the rental car, waiting for the plane, flying, waiting for luggage and waiting for van to take us to our car.
Joe finished his 3rd ironman! Yeah! He was a little disappointed in his time (he finished in a little over 11 hours) but with the +95 degree weather during the run I think he did amazing. I will post more photos when I have a bit more time.
Now its back to the real world...

I should be packing
...but instead I am blogging. Luckily I have most of the stuff I need all ready, I just need to make sure I am not forgetting anything.
I had dinner with Tinger and Boom last night. I still can't believe they are moving to H-town!
They are in the process of looking for and buying a house here and putting their house on sale in Richmond, all of which, I am sure is a big pain in the a$$. I am just encouraging them to buy a house with a pool! After work this afternoon I am off to the airport and Phoenix. Joe's big race is tomorrow. And after that, no more Ironmans for a long time (I hope!).

I'd rather be scrapping
Out on a school night
Last night I went over to Richie's place with Marc, Darryl, Darah and Joe W. to watched Idol gives back. The dancers from So You Think You Can Dance performed the opening act which was fab. The best act of the night was Fergie singing Baracuda with Heart. I am starting to become a fan - she's got some fun music and can actually sing. And she has a rockin' bod. {Sigh. It reminds me that I really should be working out in the morning instead of scrapping and blogging, but oh well.}
Afterwards we went to have some drinks at Guava Lamp.
I also finished a layout this morning that I started last night. I am really liking the 8x8 size because it makes a normal size photo stand out and it's much easier to embellish and takes less time. Now I may just go for a short morning run...maybe.

Get your scrap on
I have been feeling extra creative lately. This is probably because I just ordered a bunch of photos from last month. I try to upload and print photos at the end of every month so I have them in my hand and I feel inspired to scrap. I did multiple layouts and even a mini-album of random friend photos yesterday. I am too lazy to scan them in but I do have 2 little treats I made this morning. The inspiration was yet another challenge blog called One Little Word. I decided to do 8x8 pages for the challenge which is fun because one photo takes up a lot of room and the page itself doesn't take very long to make.
Here is my layout for the most recent challenge based on the word BEST:And my take on a previous challenge TIME{Sorry the scans are a little wonky - I had already put the pages in protectors and was too lazy to take them out.} Have a great hump day!

Annoying
I admit that I have a problem with blog surfing. I spend way too much time doing it. But what I really hate is coming across a blog with music on it. I do not care who you listen to, just don't make me listen to it to! {phew, just had to get that off my chest...now on to more blogging...}
Getting ready
Joe's big race is this coming Sunday! He is packing up right now. He will be leaving for Arizona tomorrow afternoon and stay with his grandparents a few days. I arrive on Sat evening after work and we will be staying at a hotel near the race start in Tempe. Please send good wishes his way!

Best kisses
I posted this photo in flickr and someone picked it to be posted on this website called bestkisses.com. Cool beans! I have reached my photo limit in my free flickr account and am not debating on whether or not to go pro. I like how you can organize photos into different albums and the way you can view them a little better. Decisions decisions!

Mini
I have a bad habit of starting little projects but never finishing them. But I have finally finished one mini album. I took a self-portrait every day in February and a photo of Joe every day in March (well, I did forget 3/25, but I won't tell if you won't). Any-hoo, I bought a simple little album from Target (on sale of course) and those photos filled the whole album. I didn't embellish the pages - just used digital frames on the photos and called it good. I love that it's nice and fat. Yay me!
In other noteworthy news, I got my hair cut and colored today. I am having a difficult time taking a good-self portrait, so I will post a pic another day.

Busy week
I feel like this has been a long week even though I was only in the office for 2 days so far. Mon and Tues were spent in training, which may be why it feels so long. Nothing exciting to report so far except that it is starting to get much more humid for our early morning runs.
Got a hair appointment scheduled tomorrow, so I am looking forward to that. Otherwise I think most of the weekend will be spent just chillin'. More laters...

Happy April
Of course it is grey and dreary outside. But that's ok - spring is definitely here. The weather has been warm and humid and I'm sure will continue to stay that way for quite a while.
Happy news that I have yet to post (mainly because the one or two people that may actually read this already know): one of my wishes have come true - tinger and boomboom are moving to H-town! This is actually better than I imagined because I figured they would move to Austin or Fort Worth if they moved back to TX, but I imagine getting a good job for boom was probably easier here. She will be in town next week to check things out. I can't wait
