Lazy day
I have not run since Christmas morning! Just hard to get back in the swing of things, I guess. I've been more inspired to organize and photoshop photos, do a little scrappin' and surfin' on the computer than drag my butt out into the cold to run. I must get at least 1 run in tomorrow before the new year!

Relaxing Monday
Today has been the first day I have had in over a week with no obligations. Just time to chill and relax at home. I have been trying to pick up the clutter that seems to multiply every day but otherwise, just taking it easy. Enjoying the last Monday of 2008.

A quickie
Just wanted to get a quick post in before I head into work this morning (just in case I didn't have time or forgot tonight!). I spent the afternoon yesterday hanging out with Mom and Dad. Good times.
Last night we had dinner here before heading out to see the Nutcracker. I love it! Joe, I think, is cultured out. But that's ok because we are done for the year :)
Ok, just gotta make it through today and then 2 days off!

Only 3 more days!
Until Christmas! Yikes, where has December gone? Even with keeping a daily journal, which has allowed me to appreciate the season each day, time seems to have flown by!
After yoga yesterday Joe and I headed over to Tingaling and Boom's where we awaited the arrival of Marm and Dad! They arrived safely and only made one wrong turn.
We are lunch at Ruggles Green, a new off-shoot of Ruggles. Apparently this is the first completely green (or something like that) restaurant in H-town!We enjoyed some good soup, nut burgers and dessert (courtesy of the restaurant which forgot Mom's order)We then went to the theater district to hear Handel's Messiah at Jones Hall.Some fun with self portraitsAfter the show, Joe and Dad (and Ruby) were still hungry so we made them some eggs sandwichesJoe and I came home and wrapped presents! Just need a few last minute things and I think I am done!

Boo!
When I don't blog in the morning I end up not blogging at all. Hate it when I forget! Yesterday was a good day. 4 mile run, see patients, and practice 1.5 hours of yoga in the morning. Lunch, and a bit of shopping with Joe in the morning.
We headed out to Conroe for his work Christmas party last night. Conroe is FAR FAR away. I like actually being out in the woods and all but getting there is no fun! Most of the peeps at the party were former Enron employees that now work elsewhere so I actually knew a fair amount and the party was fairly fun (at least as fun as work functions can be). The wine helps.
Today Mom and Dad are driving in! Can't wait to see them! I am skipping this morning's run - bad cramps - blah! But am going to practice yoga (this will be 4 days in a row for me! if i go tomorrow that will be 5 - pretty impressive if I do say so myself!).

Really???
The house is 72 degrees and humid (no air or heat on). The weather outside is sticky and gross. What happenend to the cold Christmas weather?!?! I REALLY don't want to turn the A/C on, but we may have to tonight because sleeping last night was fairly miserable. (And that had NOTHING to do with the 3 glasses of wine I drank at dinner with the girls!)

Oops!
I didn't post yesterday - damn! Messed up my perfect attendance for December. Oh well, whatcha gonna do?
Had a great yoga practice last night and ran 6 miles this morning so I am a bit sore.
I also got some happy mail yesterday - Carolyn, Bill's mom, sent me a card and a super cute t-shirt!She wrote a sweet message, saying the first thing she thought of when she saw the shirt was me :)
I guess I need to finish getting ready for work - I have a feeling it's going to be a busy day. Good thing I have the girls' ornament exchange dinner to look forward to!

Busy week
Lot of Christmas stuff going on from here on out! Book club party tonight, girls ornament exchange on Thursday, my work holiday dinner on Friday (lucky Joe doesn't have to go!) and Joe's work holiday party on Saturday. Plus working and working out in between and some scrapping if I am lucky!
I got the book for book club but never read it. Is that bad? {Something about HAVING to read a book has the opposite effect on me - kind of like in school!}

Change of plans
We were supposed to go to Dallas to run the White Rock Lake marathon and half, but Joe's achille's has been bothering him and he wasn't feeling 100%. So he didn't drive up and I didn't fly up (luckily we got a credit from Continental for the flight, so it wasn't a total loss!). Instead we stayed home, ate pizza and watched the movie Candy, with Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish. Great movie, although a little depressing.
I also got some happy mail yesterday: some stamps I ordered from Cats Life Press. They are so fun!We will be going to yoga this morning, having some brunch with friends and maybe doing some Christmas shopping today. I feel bad for not seeing Mom and Dad, but fortunately they are driving down next weekend so we can start our Christmas early!

Feeling lazy
This week had not been a good workout week for me. Maybe it's the cold, maybe I'm getting burnt out, or being just plain lazy! I have barely run and all the the last time I practiced yoga was on Sunday! I tell myself it's ok to slack off every once in a while - maybe your body needs the rest! In the meantime, give me some more chocolate :)
Our good friend Richie is hosting an impromptu Christmas party tonight so we can hang out with our favorite peeps{Richie is in the center, surrounded by D, me, Marc and Joe}
I must remember to get a group photo tonight!

It snowed!
I can't believe it snowed yesterday. Of course it didn't really stick to the ground or stay (too bad - no snow day from work!) but we got snow!The snow started coming down harder when we got our tree!
Currently it is still only 34 degrees outside - very very chilly for our early morning run and I am starting to get cold again (must take warm shower after blogging) and the high is only 58 today. But it looks like today is going to be the coldest day for at least the next 10 days. I don't mind the cold - I wouldn't mind maybe a week or 2 of straight cold weather as long as it didn't stay too long!
Our tree before:and after:{I need to take better photos - maybe this morning when we get some more light}
I got the idea to use our medals from the races we have done to decorate the tree as well. Pretty clever, if I do say so myself!

Chilly Willy
The temperature is currently 35degrees and the high is only going to be 43!! Aack - that's cold! Luckily it doesn't look like it is going to last long - back up to 70 by Saturday and even 79 on Monday! H-town has the craziest weather! Doesn't make a girl want to shower and go to work...

Caught up
I have finished my earlier pages as well as the page for my Christmas journal today. I have really enjoyed making this, 1 because I told myself to let go and keep it simple and 2 because it's making me stop and think about what Christmas means to me. Sure I love getting gifts, but the actual celebration of the whole season is so much more than that!Now I am just trying to gear up for the work day!
