Random thoughts on a Saturday

*Yesterday was one of those days where I felt like a truck ran over me by the end of the day. Yoga helped a bit, a couple glasses of wine at dinner helped a bit and going to bed before 9 PM helped A LOT.

*My friends used to comment on how lucky I was to wear scrubs to work. I thought it was only ok. I am SO much happier now that I can dress up for work. I guess getting dressed is one of the joys in my life.

*Working on the weekends stinks. But I have accepted it as part of my job. Luckily looking pretty helps (see above comment).

*I love having short hair, especially in the summer.

*I really need some basic pumps for work, but they are just so boring to buy!

*I love wearing skirts and dresses in the summer - for work and play.

*I received about 5 mosquito bites while taking my remix photos this morning.

*I did a little shopping over the last few weeks. I returned the cutest blazer from Anthro because, as much as I loved it, I live in Houston, Texas and rarely wear jackets, even in the dead of winter. So I bought a dress instead :)07.17.10dress: Loft

Day three

06.09.10top+pants: J. Crew

Random thoughts for today:
1. I'm am kind of liking the limited wardrobe choices...makes getting dressed in the morning a snap!
2. Full caffeine coffee is a much better eye opener.
3. It feels like a sauna outside.
4. I have a confession to make...later...

Dressing my best: skin

My best features were given to me by my parents: lots of dark hair, muscular legs, tallish frame (especially for an Asian!) and especially my skin. I love its tone and softness :)

I love to wear bright colors and love how they look on me!

3 for 1

I've been feeling pink and black these days.05.06.10This outfit for work yesterday was super comfy and I got lots of compliments on my shoes! I mean, how can pink shoes not make you smile :)!
05.06.10After work, Joe and I celebrated a dear friend's birthday over cocktails and ceviche! Yum! This look is my homage to the popularity of clogs. Unfortunately the Chanel studded ones are way out of my price range, but these Via Spiga ones work for me! I got them last fall in NYC, so I guess I am a trendsetter!

05.07.10Today I wanted to be even more comfy because the schedule looks like it could be pretty busy. I also try to keep Wednesdays and Fridays flats days because I practice yoga after work and wearing heels all day can tighten up my hamstrings too much.

05.07.10And this last photo is just an extra for your viewing enjoyment. I just realized I have worn something from the Gap every day this week except Wednesday. I guess I am a gap kind of girl!

Pretty in pink

If you know me (or even if you don't), you know that pink is my favorite color. The brighter the better, although I like all shades.04.29.10I thought this outfit was made a bit more interesting by adding the pink peeptoes! Again, those were scored at the Talbot's outlet for $13. {My hair is looking kind of funky in this photo, but I promised it's been washed and styled!}2010 04 27 photoLook how big the little peanut is getting! He can almost sit up by himself, and he is definitely smiling more. 5 months certainly have whizzed by!

Having technical difficulties

What I miss about my missing point-and-shoot camera is the ease to which I could take remix photos in the morning. With my SLR, setting up the tripod and focus can be a pain. I haven't been using it myself for a bit now so I was having trouble getting a clear shot so this is the best of the bunch.

The jacket actually goes with the pants I wore yesteday, but I didn't feel like wearing a suit. I'm glad I could find ways to wear each piece separately. And the peeptoes are a bargain I bought at the Talbot's outlet about 2 months ago - $13! I even got them in pink!
