Halfway

I can't believe today is the last day of the month! Wow, the time has flown (I think I say this a lot!)

Is it bad that I am already ready for Saturday to be here? I am looking forward to this weekend - one of my cousins is getting married here in H-town and we will have tons of family in town. I can't wait to see everyone!

This is another button down I purchased when the hubs was out of town. I love the shape, color and that fact that it was only $12. I'm sure I will be wearing these a lot over the summer.

Sometimes I can get a remix photo in a few shots, sometimes it takes 30. I like using my SLR because of the crisper photos I get, but sometimes getting myself in focus takes much longer.

but more often than not I end up like this! Talk about frustrating! I guess all I can do is keep shooting.

Casual Mondays

Working on some Saturdays does have its rewards, especially come Sunday night, when I know I have the next day off! On our way out of yoga today, Joe struck up a conversation with a new guy in class. Turns out he is the bassist for Jordin Sparks, who is playing at the House of Blues tonight. We gave him a ride back to his tour bus and he offered to put us on the Will Call list if tickets were available. So we may be seeing Jordin perform tonight. I'm not a huge fan, but I did predict she would win Idol!

Other things to do today: Go to the dentist to have a cavity filled and replaced - yuck. I am really dreading that. At least I can look cute even if I don't feel it :)

Just life

Here is Joe taking his Gram from Phoenix to Maine. They look so cute!

We celebrated my sweet friend JC's birthday on Monday.His birthday cake was a caramel cake, delivered all the way from Mississippi.

My sweetie finally came home on Tuesday.

We enjoyed some yummy pizza!

And some wine.

And of course I spent some more time with my cutie peanut!

I may be biased but I think he is going to be a smart one!

Thinking about wearing my top from yesterday got me to thinking about what other tops I could wear with these pants. And here it is, an all pink ensemble! I guess it's about time!

I have to work today (boo) so at least wearing pink brightens the day!

I know I am complete nerd for wanting to chill out at home by myself instead of meet friends for dinner (Joe is out with the boys) but sometimes a girl just needs quiet time to herself, no? So while I was catching up on my blogroll, I noticed Sal had linked some sites that mentioned her Black-Out Challenge from a few weeks ago. When I clicked on this one, I saw aphoto of me! Silly, but kind of made my day :)

I find that I have worn this shirt 4-5 times since I bought it, either with white or black pants. It's an easy, flattering and comfortable look for a busy day at work. But I feel like I should get a bit more creative with it too...I wonder how it would look with my pink pants...that's an idea!

It's been pretty rainy the past few days. Unfortunately the rain only cools the temperature temporarily and then the humidity let's us have it again! I keep telling myself it's good for my skin!

If you haven't noticed, I am addicted to ruffles. On top, on bottom, wherever they go, I love them! They just add a little something something to an outfit, no?

Catching up

I have a couple outfit that I failed to post since the computer crash. Luckily it wasn't a crash, just a dislodged video card that my IT dept was able to fix in a jiffy!

In the April Anthropologie catalog was the cutest yellow polka dotted skirt by Leifsdottier, called the coming and going skirt. I love the ruffle details on it as well. I didn't love the $198 price tag. When I discovered this pink skirt in my sister's closet, I knew I found a great substitute. And best of all, it was free! {Let me know when you want it back ;)}

I know I said I wasn't shopping anymore, but with the hubs out of town, I was a bit bored. Gap was having an extra 25% off all sale items, so I picked up 4 belts all for under $10 each! And the cute button down was on sale for $12 so I got 3 different colors (I figured they would be worn quite a bit for work and would be a good light layering piece for the summer). The shoes were puchased a few weeks ago and I love them. I guess I should wear a skirt to show off the wedge/bootie aspect.

We'll see if I can get it together this morning to post a current OOTD...but I'm not making any promises :)

Back in business

I feel so behind! Currently I am watching my favorite show of the summer...So You Think You Can Dance! I have really been enjoying the format this year - new dancers paired with "All Stars" makes for fabulous dances! I think my favorite is Alex, the ballet dancer.

I really want some more pencil skirts, but don't really need any. I decided to substitute this skirt instead. My favorite part is the pockets of course. And I also am in dire need of a haircut. I guess it's nothing a little more hair product can't fix for now!

I can't believe today is the actual official start of summer. The oppressive heat and humidity started weeks ago!

I visited my favorite little boy after yoga.He was hanging out with his buddy C, who just turned 1 year old!

Happy Dad's Day

My dad is out of the country today (he and Mom are in Taiwan, visiting my grandmother). I still wanted to give him and Mom and big shout-out for being the best parents a girl could hope for!
