We had a very short weekend filled with yoga, food and driving. I need another day to get caught up with regular errands but unfortunately that's not happening.


I have had these jeans for years and love them. I hope I will love them forever!


This tank is another layering top with fun texture. Now off to decide what to wear today...

When designer jeans were all the rage a few years back, I obsessed about buying some True Religions. I found these for a song at a sample sale during one of our NYC visits. They fit perfectly and make me feel long and skinny, which is what a good pair of jeans should do.


As much as I love skinny jeans, nothing is more flattering to me than a good pair of bootcut jeans. Especially for chicks with muscular thighs like myself!

I have been inspired lately by different boho looks I have seen in magazines as well as on different style blogs, so I wanted to see what I could scrounge up in my closet.


I am glad I hung on to this blouse, because it works nicely, without being too costume-y. I just love Target!

these platforms! They are knock-offs of the Miu Mius that were popular last year. I have also realized that no matter how much I try to resist, I will not be able to stop wearing heels altogether (so that I don't tighten my hamstrings too much, which can make my asana practice suffer). I am just going to have to alternate with flats.

As I was looking at my outfits from the past few days, they look almost identical. Now that the temperature is rising, wearing layers is not much of an option. One good thing about being home? Showing my shoulders is ok!

I am back in Austin tonight. Got one more day of work here tomorrow and back home tomorrow night. The drive to Austin wasn't so bad; it's always driving home that seems to take forever. Probably because I'm just ready to get home!

We rang in the new year with some of my dear friends from high school in Austin. We had a fabulous time (even though we had to wait 2 hours to hail a cab to bring us home!) and stayed up way too late, which is why I am going to bed soon. Here's to a great year!

Today the hubs and I walked around downtown H-town to have lunch and pretend we live in a big cool city. The weather couldn't be more perfect for it!

I got this sweater at the end of the winter this year but this is the first time I have worn it. It's almost as fun as going shopping :).


I love these jeans.


One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is receiving cards in the mail. I really adore snail mail.

We are on the home stretch of this challenge. And not a moment too soon! I am going to a Christmas party on Thursday evening and would prefer to wear something new (as in something I haven't worn in the last 30 days, not something actually purchased new!).

I chopped off my hair! Please excuse the clips; they were leftover from yoga this morning. Having almost no hair is quite liberating. And hopefully distracts viewers from the budda belly :)


We got our tree today! This photo is obviously not of the tree, but a reminder to myself to keep up my yoga practice during the craziness of the holidays. Yoga definitely helps me focus on what is important in my life.

This sweater is the last new item I have to wear. It works much better than the black tee I had originally chosen since it's more substantial to keep me warmer, but short-sleeved to help deal with the fluctuating temperatures (70degrees today...WTF?).


This skirt is beginning to grow on me; however, if you as much as look at it, the wrinkles pop up!

I am going to a jewelery trunk show tonight held by the lovely lady who made these earrings for me on my birthday. I thought I would change into something more comfortable for gazing at gorgeous necklaces and bracelets and earrings and rings and more!


My eyes are pretty small; I can accept that. But I have noticed more lately that when I smile too much, they become positively squinty. So here I have purposefully opened them wider. I hope I don't look too manic!


I want this photo to remind to "reframe" the season and remember what really most important about the holiday - friends and family, like those hung on our walls!

Today's outfit is a recreation of what I wore that past 2 Saturday evenings, but never took a photo of. Today's actually outfit consists of Lululemon and Nike.

I thought I was learning the secret of taking remix photos with a wide aperture to get better bokeh, but turns out I am not. It took me almost 50 shots to get one halfway decent one. Oh well, practice makes perfect!

Happy Thanksgiving y'all. I hope you ate too much turkey and pumpkin pie yesterday; I know I did. I recreated my outfit from yesterday as I didn't have time to take a remix photo.

With the weather varying from 80degrees to 40 degrees over the past few weeks, the remix challenge has been quite the challenge! I definitely didn't choose all the right clothes and am wearing several pieces (i.e. the sweaters) over and over again.

I did cheat a little on showing these outfits: last night I didn't wear the boots and today's outfit was put on and then promptly removed after the photo was taken. I don't think I am going to brave the crowds on this black Friday and I just plan on hanging out with the fam the rest of the day so back into Lululemon yoga pants we go! This outfit is what I WOULD wear if I was actually leaving the house today :)

My friends in NorCal have the most gorgeous house with tons of windows and light. The back of their house faces east and they have water not neighbors behind them so they have an amazing view of the sunrise.

Wednesday was a great day. I met up with a couple different friends from college for lunch and dinner. Seeing old friends really makes me happy.

Yesterday was my nephew's first birthday party! (He doesn't actually turn one until the 27th, but since we will be back at our parents over Thanksgiving, his mama wanted to celebrate with his friends early). So the backdrop I used for my remix photos was the backdrop for our homemade photobooth.

When we returned home today after an afternoon of shopping (don't worry, the hubs bought many shirts for work (and some Lulu yoga stuff for me!) while I limited my purchases to gifts for JJ, so I was still within the rules of the challenge!), we saw this chair in our neighbors yard. I think they must be throwing it away because it didn't feel to stable, but made for a silly remix photo.

One perk about being unemployed: no working on weekends!

The main difference from this season's challenge from the one at the end of the summer is that I have much more casual clothes. The reason? I was laid off from my job and last Tuesday was my last day. This is why October was so stressful. I have come to terms with everything and am enjoying the time off; the hubs finding a job around the same time I lost mine alleviated much stress. So my current job title is "house mouse" and I think I will enjoy it for at least a few months!

We just returned from Cabo last night and I am now trying to get caught up with real life. Going on vacation is wonderful; returning takes some adjusting. So my 30-for-30 posts may be a bit delayed.
